Thank you to everyone who joined us last week at The Visionaries of Mobility Summit to share our vision of the future of mobility. Your presence and energy made the night truly special. Our co-founder and CTO, Hari Balakrishnan, presented on mobility advancements and highlighted the paradox of vehicle safety — despite all the breakthroughs in technology, crashes are still rising. Hari showed how CMT has made roads safer for over 40 million drivers. The evening closed with a fireside chat between our co-founder and CEO, William V. Powers, and the GOAT, Tom Brady, who shared a powerful message on leadership and accountability: "Every time you show up, you get to prove them wrong or prove them right. And if they say you can't do something... well, what are you going to do about it? You're going to prove them right? So the idea was, how can I always go out there and prove to myself that I was capable... Because that person you can't fool." The last 15 years for CMT were just the beginning. Now, we’re preparing for the next 15 — together with the entire mobility community, working to make the world’s roads and drivers safer. As Tom would say, let’s go! 🚗💡🏈

According to The New York Times, 75% of the 7,300 US pedestrian fatalities in 2021 happened at night. It’s different in other countries. They’re seeing fewer pedestrian fatalities at night — and a decline overall. Our research shows that Americans spend nearly 3X as much time interacting with their phones while driving as drivers in Britain. Distracted driving also spikes in the evening. This National Pedestrian Safety Month and with Halloween approaching, we’re raising awareness of the growing dangers pedestrians face. Whether you’re walking, biking, or driving, put your phones down, stay vigilant, and educate others to do the same.
