. October is here! 🗓 This month, our Testing Tuesday theme is focused on Octane & Cetane - Fuel Performance by Engine Testing & Residual Fuels. We’ll cover crucial laboratory tests, including: ⁃ ASTM D2699 - Research Octane Number of Spark-Ignition Engine Fuel ⁃ ASTM D2700 - Motor Octane Number of Spark-Ignition Engine Fuel ⁃ ASTM D4814 - Antiknock Index (AKI) Calculated Average of RON & MON (R + M)/2 ⁃ ASTM D613 - Cetane Number of Diesel Fuel Oil Stay tuned every Tuesday for detailed insights and updates! Octane and cetane numbers are key indicators of fuel performance, with octane confirming gasoline and cetane confirming diesel performance in engines. Octane number is one of the most commercially important and costly parameters to meet for gasoline cargoes, additionally, distillate cargoes may require cetane improver to meet higher cetane specifications. Curious to learn more? Reach out to our blending experts to learn how we can help you with your fuel blending needs! Stop Work Authority at Camin Cargo! 👷♂️ At Camin Cargo, we believe that safety isn’t just a priority - it’s a value that drives everything we do. One of the most essential tools in our safety toolkit is Stop Work Authority (SWA). SWA is the empowerment of every team member, regardless of rank or role, to stop any task if they believe there’s a potential safety risk. Whether it's an unsafe condition, incorrect procedure, or even just a gut feeling, SWA gives you the power to speak up and take action before an incident occurs. 5 Essential Tips for SWA: • Trust Your instincts: If something feels off or unsafe, don’t hesitate to pause the work. Gut feelings can be a valuable early warning sign. • Communicate Clearly: When invoking SWA, be clear and direct in communicating the concern to your team. Ensure everyone understands the reason for the stop. • Evaluate the Situation: Take time to assess the issue fully, considering both immediate hazards and potential risks that may not be obvious at first. • Seek Input: Don’t be afraid to ask for help or a second opinion. Collaboration often leads to the best solutions in ensuring safety. • Resume Safely: Ensure that all risks are mitigated and safety measures are in place before proceeding with the task. By using SWA, we prevent accidents before they happen, foster a culture of accountability, and empower every team member to be a guardian of safety. At Camin Cargo, we encourage everyone to actively use their Stop Work Authority to promote open communication, collaboration, and continuous learning, improving our safety protocols and creating a safer, smarter, and more resilient workplace for all! #SafetyFirst #StopWorkAuthority #CaminCargo #SafetyCulture #Teamwork #ContinuousImprovement
