Now that the California Department of Education has released statewide assessment results for K-12 students, we have received lots of inquiries about when the 2024 California Honor Roll schools list will be released. We are pleased to share that the list will be released on November 19th! Congratulations to the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce and Maria S. Salinas for hosting another successful Education Summit at Loyola Marymount University! We were honored to be in attendance along with State Superintendent Tony Thurmond. As one of our ERP Institute alumni Matthew Wunder so eloquently stated during the panel, the north star for many students is "economic freedom". By aligning our #education efforts to support students in reaching that goal, we can create meaningful partnerships between educators and employers that drive genuine collaboration and shared success.

Skills-based hiring is taking center stage in the national conversation, and for a good reason: it’s helping employers find talent in new ways while opening doors for more people to thrive in the workforce. According to a recent survey, 81% of employers have now embraced skills-based hiring practices, making this a pivotal moment in the future of work. It is imperative that everyone learn about this shift and what it means for both employers and job seekers. We highly recommend watching the new Netflix documentary "Untapped". It dives deep into this movement and reveals how prioritizing skills development in hiring is breaking down barriers and creating more equitable opportunities. At Educational Results Partnership (ERP), we believe that this trend is just the beginning. As more employers adopt skills-based hiring, we see a critical need to support all educational institutions in helping their students adapt to this new reality. How will young people with limited or no work experience communicate their job skills to employers? What tools can bridge the gap between their talent and in-demand jobs? In step with the release of Untapped, we’re excited to promote our Talent-to-Jobs Matching Initiative and announce the launch of three new programs. Championed by the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence (CBEE), this initiative features new programs that our team has spent the past three years designing to help students showcase their skills to employers: Skills Currency, SkillSight, and SkillsLink. Each program offers unique support to help high school students and recent graduates match their skills with real job opportunities. These programs also work closely with employers to help them find the talent they need to fill in-demand positions. Please watch the documentary and let us know what you think!
