    Mantenimiento anual y calibración de sensores de temperatura, presión y precipitación de la AWS 540014 Unidad Aeropolicial ubicada en la ciudad de Punta Arenas. El mantenimiento y calibración con patrones trazables permite tener datos confiables para el uso a nivel local, protección civil y para intercambio internacional. La estación tiene un datalogger Campbell Scientific CR6, sensor de viento RM young, sensores PTB110, HMP155 Vaisala, pluviómetro Texas y piranómetro Kipp and Zonen.     🇮🇹 🌧️ Gli eventi meteorologici degli ultimi giorni hanno nuovamente messo alla prova il reticolo idraulico in molte regioni italiane, con criticità particolarmente evidenti in Emilia-Romagna e Toscana. ⚠️ La gestione del #rischioidraulico richiede soluzioni integrate, capaci di intervenire in modo tempestivo e automatizzato per ridurre gli impatti degli eventi particolarmente intensi. ⚙️ La vasca di laminazione di Prato ha registrato il suo primo intervento operativo, confermando l’efficacia del sistema di monitoraggio e telecontrollo sviluppato e installato da Hortus nel 2024.     2025 Utah High School Clean Air Marketing Contest Our contest entails teaching teens about how to keep Utah’s air clean during Utah’s polluted winter inversion season and having them create public service announcements to encourage others to follow suit (e.g., refrain from idling, avoid the drive-thru, carpool, etc.). For 2025, we celebrated our 10th anniversary of the contest. We announced our 20 state winners of our contest February 8 (out of 1,150 entries from across Utah and southern Idaho) at a reception at the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art (NEHMA) at Utah State University. Here's another 2025 winner, this one from Preston High School (southern Idaho shares Cache Valley’s air shed) by Brinley Hansen that compares idling with smoking, and its pollution is like forcing kids to smoke. In this provocative rendering, kids are helpless trees in a classroom and the car is like a chain-smoking teacher.  The symbolism suggests adults need to think about their actions (mindlessly idling) and how it impacts youth. Brinley won the Campbell Scientific Award of $150. Congrats!!!! #Huntsman #UtahStateUniversity #AirPollution #Utah #HighSchool #Contest #Art #Marketing #Sustainability

    🇮🇹 Nuovo sistema di monitoraggio #HmsGEO in configurazione #EarlyWarning realizzato per conto del Comune di Lanzada, lungo la strada di collegamento con Campo Franscia, in Valmalenco. 📍 Il sistema monitora una parete rocciosa instabile, caratterizzata da un quadro fessurativo articolato e volumi di potenziale distacco significativi. Questi movimenti possono subire improvvise accelerazioni, specialmente in inverno, quando gradienti termici molto marcati accentuano il rischio di crolli improvvisi. 🔧 La strumentazione installata è composta da 5 fessurimetri collegati a un datalogger Campbell Scientific CR1000Xe, che acquisisce dati ad alta risoluzione e invia tempestivamente notifiche di allarme in caso di eventuali superamenti soglia. 🚁 I nostri tecnici hanno realizzato l’installazione utilizzando tecniche alpinistiche complesse, supportati dall’elicottero per la movimentazione dei carichi in parete. Grazie ad un’attenta progettazione preliminare, il team ha completato l’installazione in tempi molto ridotti, minimizzando l’esposizione e garantendo la massima sicurezza nelle operazioni in sito. 🌱 Un esempio concreto di come un intervento di mitigazione non strutturale possa contribuire significativamente alla gestione del rischio e alla comprensione di questi processi, specialmente in un contesto di cambiamenti climatici che alterano le dinamiche ambientali tradizionali. 🇬🇧 New #HmsGEO monitoring system in #EarlyWarning configuration installed for the Municipality of Lanzada, along the road connecting Lanzada and Campo Franscia, in Valmalenco. 📍 The system monitors an unstable rock face characterized by complex fracture patterns and significant volumes of potential rockfall. Movements in these fractures can experience sudden accelerations, especially in winter when sharp thermal gradients increase the risk of rockfalls. 🔧 The instrumentation includes 5 crackmeters connected to a @CampbellScientific CR1000Xe datalogger, which acquires high-resolution data and promptly sends alarm notifications whenever predefined thresholds are exceeded. 🚁 Our technicians carried out the installation using advanced alpine techniques, with helicopter support for material transport to the rock face.
