A few weeks ago, we kicked off #CyberSecurityAwarenessMonth in partnership with The Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank and Secure Networks with a seminar on identifying and avoiding business fraud. Moderated by BizChecks Payroll owner, Larry Drago, the seminar fostered a critical discussion about keeping businesses safe as the threat of fraud ramps up. Our five panelists including Taryn Wilson, CRCM, CAFP, SVP of Financial Crimes at Cape Cod Five, Susan Hogan, Director of Tax Compliance at BizChecks, Kevin MacArthur, President of Secure Networks, Melissa Maranda, VP of Treasury Management at Cape Cod Five and Steve Barrette, Barnstable Detective of the Criminal Investigations and Digital Forensics Unit, highlighted the most prevalent threats to businesses today and presented some simple, cost-effective solutions that business owners can implement to mitigate the risk.
