    The #SFR Phenomenon! In October 2022, PwC and the Urban Land Institute published their annual report, Emerging Trends in Real Estate 2022, that Single-family rental (#SFR ) homes are housing’s sexiest phenomenon. In previous decades, the majority of renters lived in urban apartments or simply could not afford to buy homes. However, in the past 5 years, the demand from tenants for single-family homes in the U.S. has been driven by both financial necessity and choice.  Today, SFRs and build-to-rent (BTR) communities are on the radar screens of mom-and-pop investors, real estate investment trusts (REITs), institutional investors, and private equity funds. The flow of investment capital into the SFR asset class is creating demand for new business models and digital tools to innovate and transform the real estate industry.#SFRs account for more than 33% of all renter households, according to the National Multifamily Housing Council, and the amount of investment capital flowing into the SFR space continues to grow.
