A new study indicates that women with autoimmune liver diseases (AILD), such as autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) and primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), face significantly higher cardiovascular risks. The study showed that women with AIH have a 25.4% risk of cardiovascular issues, compared to 20.6% for those without AIH. Similarly, women with PBC have a 27.05% risk, in contrast to 20.9% for those without PBC. This emphasizes the need for improved cardiovascular risk assessments for these patients.
