Care for Friends (formerly the 530 Fullerton Foundation) provides easy access to community, food and overall wellness for Chicago’s most vulnerable and under-served people, in an atmosphere of dignity and respect. Through its programs, the Foundation successfully connects people with community resources to enable them to achieve a better quality of life.     We’ve got a double feature of recipient showcases today! Introducing Dr. Chelsea Dorsey, Associate Professor of Surgery in the Section of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy at the University of Chicago Medicine. Her work focuses on workforce diversity in surgery, augmentation of inclusive practices in the surgical environment, and optimizing academic resources for diverse learners in the undergraduate medical education space.     With Power Hope days away we are still rocking and rolling on introducing you to this years amazing recipients. Today we’d like you to meet Aaron Galeener. Through his work with Cook County Health, he has lead his team to provide person-centered health coverage as well as championed CountyCares food care program, which recently earned a “Best in Class” Achievement in Health award by the National Association of Counties.     Meet Morgan McLuckie, a sustainable clothing designer, Power Hope award winner and CEO of The Orange Tent Project. The Orange Tent Project was created in hope of ending the cycle of homelessness many of our Chicago friends face. They have served over ten thousand meals and built more than two hundred insulated shelters! Celebrate this amazing person and organization at this years Power Hope.
