From now until the end of 2024, our Founder and CEO, Jeremy Podany, will publish a regular stream of LinkedIn posts on 'The Career Ecosystem Mindset.' https://lnkd.in/gA3GSXA5 His hope is to encourage higher education and career services to thoughtfully assess their current approaches so they can more effectively conceptualize and implement career development and readiness for all students. Follow Jeremy for great insights about your career ecosystem and finish the year inspired!
Post 1: You Have a Career Ecosystem Your college or university has more than a career office and more than a collection of academic career offices. You have a career ecosystem—an interconnected student life cycle through which students desire to reflect, explore, or experience career readiness at events, during traditions, and with advisors, professors, peers, alumni, and administrators. The question is not whether you have a career ecosystem but rather the level of intentionality and effectiveness by which you are cultivating it. I encourage you to assess yours. Imagine yourself floating above a forest in a hot air balloon. Some parts of that forest will be lush, and others will be dry and brown. Some areas will be scorched by recent fires, and others will be green, dense, and full of animals. Wild forest ecosystems are often managed with very little human cultivation, leaving forest vitality, productivity, and flourishing to nature and chance. Examine your Career Ecosystem for the lush spots and the withering areas. While it might be okay or even beneficial to leave a forest wild, a college career ecosystem can and should be a highly cultivated environment. Students and families are paying too much for a college education for career readiness to be left to chance. A career office has limited capacity, but when combined with a career ecosystem mindset and approach, the potential and capacity are made available to ensure every student can experience career development during their time on campus. #AssessYourCareerEcosystem #HigherEducation #CareerServices ******* From now until the end of 2024, I will be publishing a regular stream of LinkedIn posts on ‘The Career Ecosystem Mindset’ to encourage higher education and career services to thoughtfully assess their current approaches, so they can more effectively conceptualize and implement career development and readiness for all students. ******* Is 2025 the year to formally assess your career services strategic plan? Our Team at The Career Leader Collective helps colleges and universities take the next step, keeping in mind your unique context. Let’s connect! https://lnkd.in/dVWx5V2
