September is World Alzheimer's Month, a time to challenge the stigma and raise awareness for Alzheimer's disease. According to the Alzheimer's Association®, nearly half of U.S. caregivers who provide support to older adults do so for someone with Alzheimer's disease or other dementias. We're excited to announce that Careforth is expanding its family caregiving services to include 31 additional counties in North Carolina! With this addition, Careforth's services are now available in 71 total counties state-wide. We are currently serving hundreds of caregivers across the state and are excited to extend our support to many more. Careforth's services support caregivers of adults aged 18-64 with disabilities, seniors aged 65 and older through the CAP/DA program, and caregivers of medically fragile and medically complex children aged 0-20 through the CAP/C program. “We understand that providing care for a loved one at home–whether it’s your spouse, parent, child, or friend–can be physically and emotionally demanding. With over one million family caregivers in North Carolina, our team is already in place to provide the support and connections needed most to more families across the state.” - Matt Marek, Careforth President and CEO With this significant expansion, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting the vital role of caregivers across North Carolina. Careforth is dedicated to ensuring that families have the resources and assistance they need to provide the best possible care for their loved ones at home.
