VitalStream provides continuous hemodynamic monitoring without the need for invasive arterial lines or continuous IV fluid infusion. This eliminates the reliance on IV fluids for continuous blood pressure measurement, offering a significant advantage during a supply shortage. Also, by providing real-time insights into a patient's response to fluids, VitalStream can potentially reduce the overall need for IV fluid administration. https://lnkd.in/etwp9BpR #IVFluidShortage #FluidShortage #PatientSafety #Anesthesiology #ANES24 #Hemodynamics

Incorrect fluid administration can result in delayed recovery, increased length of stay, complications and costs. But unfortunately, there has been limited technology that can quickly provide the right data the ER setting. This and the fast-paced nature of the ER, may contribute to most fluid decisions being made empirically. VitalStream makes tailoring fluid administration in the ED easy with the portable form factor, quick set up time and fluid challenge timer. Spot checked vital signs can lead to missed hypotensive events and result in suboptimal patient outcomes. A prospective blinded observational study showed that 18% of patients recovering from abdominal surgery had an episode of mean arterial pressure < 65 mmHg lasting at least 15 minutes of which 47% were undetected by routine vital signs assessments. https://lnkd.in/eaCEMZgM #hypotension #hemodynamics #patientsafety

A-line set up can take over 15 minutes per patient. You can regain some of this precious time by using VitalStream for continuous blood pressure and advanced hemodynamic data. VitalStream only takes 60-90 seconds to set up and doesn't require leveling or zeroing upon position changes. Will you be at Anesthesiology 2024 this weekend? Stop by booth 7060 by center stage to learn how you can reduce intraoperative and postoperative hypotension to enable better patient outcomes and reduce costs. https://lnkd.in/e38FgAfx #ANES24 #anesthesiology #hypotension #patientsafety

Postoperative hypotension is common. A retrospective analysis, Khanna et al., of noncardiac patient procedures found that of patients with intraoperative hypotension, 84% experienced a postoperative MAP of 75 or less and 48% had a postoperative MAP that dropped to 65 or less. https://lnkd.in/ewqz89dw #hypotension #surgery #hemodynamics #patientsafety

Postoperative hypotension (POH) is common but often undetected due to spot checks. A retrospective analysis, Khanna et al., of over 67K noncardiac patient procedures found that of the patients without intraoperative hypotension, 63% had a MAP of 75 or less and 22% had a MAP that dropped to 65 of less. The study also found an association between POH and acute kidney injury and 30-day readmission. https://lnkd.in/ewqz89dw #hypotension #hemodynamics #surgery #patientsafety
