It’s Friday, July 19th, and I’m finishing my second week at CarGurus. Someone asked me how I was feeling about my experience so far, and I thought I’d share with you all. Usually, I have an immediate answer, with words spilling out about how great it is. But this time, I paused, and instead of words, a smile appeared. When I finally answered, I said, "I feel relaxed." By that, I mean I feel at ease, calm, and assured. This is a different feeling than what many might experience during their first two weeks at a new job. Often, new hires are bombarded with information, countless awkward icebreakers, and endless introductions. By the end of the second week, you might feel good, but your head is ready to explode with the sheer amount of information you've received. You may still be unsure of where to go for resources and feel awkward meeting new colleagues and building connections. This is all normal, and there's nothing wrong with this traditional approach. But why am I feeling relaxed after my first two weeks at CarGurus? It’s because of something special they do to set up new hires for success. It’s not a fancy teaching method or icebreaker; it's something that isn’t necessarily taught in a classroom but is embedded in the culture. It comes down to this: years of building and continuing to build upon a foundation of transparency, growth, and a truly collaborative culture. These are values that CarGurus lives by, and you can feel it from day one. I've met countless individuals at CarGurus, from account executives and managers to directors and even CEO Jason Trevisan. I've come to realize that what makes CarGurus truly successful is the people and the environment they've created. It's common to hear someone express their excitement about being with CarGurus for 3, 5, or even 10 years. Their enthusiasm is as fresh as if it were their first day. Seeing their drive after all this time makes me excited to be a part of this team and to proudly use the hashtag #greattobeaguru. Thank you to everyone on the Cargurus onboarding + learning & development teams for making this two weeks nothing but enjoyable! #cargurus #newjob #culture #boston #massachusetts

🌟 Inspiring Moments at CarGurus 🌟 Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending one of the most inspiring meetings of my corporate journey: "Allyship & Supporting Women in Sales." This meeting deeply resonated with me, not just as a professional, but as someone who has been profoundly shaped by the incredible women in my life. Growing up, I was surrounded by four remarkable women – my three sisters and my AMAZING mother. Their strength, wisdom, and unwavering support have been instrumental in shaping who I am today. My mother's lessons and resilience have particularly left an indelible mark on me, teaching me the importance of perseverance, compassion, and standing up for what is right. This meeting wasn't just a professional gathering; it was a heartfelt reminder of the vital role women play in every sphere of life. It underscored the importance of allyship and the collective effort needed to support and uplift women in the workplace. I'm proud to be part of an organization that values diversity and actively promotes gender equality. Let's continue to champion and support the incredible women in our lives and workplaces. Together, we can create an environment where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, succeed and feel SAFE!!!! #Inspiration #WomenInSales #Allyship #DiversityAndInclusion #CarGurus #SupportingWomen #Leadership #Gratitude

Highlights from our July Market Intelligence Report include: ↗ New car supply on the rise: Market days supply is +68% YoY as automakers work to balance supply with demand. Brands with the tightest supply include Toyota, Lexus, and Subaru. While those with the highest market days supply are Wagoneer, RAM, and Lincoln. 🔍 Used inventory tightens: Used car levels are -4% MoM, with 2020-2021 model years notably down. The shortage of younger used cars could keep older vehicle prices from declining sharply. 🔌 Used EVs offer better mileage: On average, used EVs are coming to the market with far less wear and tear than ICE vehicles. Director of Industry Insights & Analytics at CarGurus

Returned to Yahoo Finance’s Asking For A Trend hosted by Josh Lipton to discuss the state of the US auto industry post a number of down earnings reports this week. I highlighted that the industry is quite healthy compared to previous years, with new sales up this year and nearing their likely post-COVID norms, coupled with inventory levels the healthiest they’ve been in four years. However, consumers have pulled back on revenge spending and are now balking at higher-priced vehicles, instead looking for more affordable options based on CarGurus data. This rebalancing in consumer preferences is leading to excess supply for some manufacturers, impacting their financials. These trends are even more pronounced with EVs, which have far too much supply compared to demand, with list prices for new EVs far above those for ICE-powered vehicles. While the near-term picture is muddled, the long-term outlook is likely still electric, with hybrids having their moment now. 📺 🔗 https://lnkd.in/g5p7sWQQ
