🧡 At Caring Places Management, we’re proud to support Alzheimer’s awareness through participation in the 2024 Alzheimer’s Walks. This year, our communities in Washington came together with love, passion, and a shared goal to help end Alzheimer’s. From residents and staff to families and friends, we walked together to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s research and care. This week, our home office team had a fantastic time participating in a golf tournament in support of the Alzheimer's Association®. We're proud to be part of such a meaningful cause, contributing to dementia research and awareness. Several of our Caring Places communities are also gearing up to participate in upcoming Walks to End Alzheimer's - an incredible way to support dementia research and get involved. We are proud to share that Lori Willis, our Regional Director of Operations, recently briefed DSHS and OFM staff about assisted living and dementia care at Easthaven Villa in Yelm, Washington. This insightful session was part of a WHCA (Washington Health Care Association) initiative, led by Lauri St. Ours, to provide firsthand tours of WHCA provider communities. The goal is to ensure that fiscal staff leaders witness the dedication and expertise of our caregivers in action. A heartfelt thank you to DSHS, as well as the Governor’s Office of Financial Management, for their participation and support.

Dawn Pratt, COO, was featured in an OHCA article on the topic of "reshaping long term care". She talks about our commitment to tailoring services to each individual resident and the effect that has on their care. “We have always built our facilities around resident preferences and the individual resident. We create one-on one individual activities plans. Our activities calendars are updated monthly, and they are everchanging with what the current interests are, not what the interests were five years ago, or even six months ago.” Read more about her example of creating a Life-Skills Station specifically tailored to one resident and her past as a dedicated postal worker below. Congrats, Dawn! 🤗
