Tammy Reed, our Abingdon Caris Rep enjoyed spending the day participating in the Washington County Senior Day. This is an annual event that has about 400 seniors come through, to learn about their options for healthcare in the Washington County area. Tammy not only set up at this event, but she was also on the planning committee and had been planning this event for months with the other members of the planning committee. Thank you, Tammy, for being part of a great event, and always showing compassion in what you do every day.

We're shining the spotlight on Kris Brinkmeyer! Thank you for participating in Super Bingo Family Night at South High Senior Living and taking the opportunity to talk about Caris to residents and their families. Kris also made root beer floats at Halls Senior Center and greeting cards with Trinity Hills Assisted Living and Memory Care's residents.

We're shining a spotlight on BOM Manager Alyssa Morton and SW Nikki Ball for putting Caris Promise #5 into action. They showed great respect to a new patient who was ashamed to allow anyone to enter her house because of not being able to care for her home and because of her hoarding tendencies. She would only allow Caris employees to provide care for her on her front porch. Discovering her issue was with the shame she felt for her living conditions, Nikki offered to discreetly come and help her clean up her home, as to allow her the ability to invite others back without compromising her dignity. She also needed a bed but there was no room to set it up. Hearing of the plans to clean for her, Alyssa immediately volunteered to help. They spent the day cleaning and clearing the room in this home and laughing with a light-hearted attitude with the patient and her daughter, who also drove to assist. Thank you Nikki and Alyssa for respecting this patient and for helping to restore dignity to this situation, allowing our patient to get the needed help that she deserved in the comfort of her home, as well as providing a space for her bed to provide the rest she also needed.
