Membership Drive: Renew or Join CMWA for 2024-2025   CMWA membership is open to anyone associated with the university, including faculty, administrators, trustees, and staff, as well as their partners and friends who support the advancement of women in the university community.   The suggested membership contribution is $25.00, though you also have the option to add an additional gift. The Carnegie Mellon Women's Association (CMWA) Barbara Smith Women's Mentoring program is currently accepting applications for mentors and mentees for 2024. This staff-to-staff mentoring program is an opportunity to engage with a fellow CMWA member in conversations around professional interests and aspirations including career advancement, educational opportunities, and job-related issues. Since 1994, the program has matched over 370 women with mentors. Today we're hosting a virtual information session at 1:30 p.m. on Zoom to discuss the application process and answer your questions. Today, the global Carnegie Mellon community comes together to kick off #GivingCMUDay for its ninth year. These 24 hours of philanthropy make a world of difference at Carnegie Mellon, like the Carnegie Mellon Women's Association (CMWA) Scholarship Fund. The Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to selected graduating senior students, with a preference for students who demonstrate a commitment to the advancement of women in their academic pursuits. Through our members’ generosity, we were able to award seven $1,500 scholarships to remarkable graduating seniors, like Mona. Last week, the Carnegie Mellon Women's Association hosted local women-owned business The Cheese Queen for an interactive charcuterie class. It was a great break in the day and perfect timing with the upcoming holidays. Thank you to Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services and Chef Vic for helping to make this event come to life!
