The energy at the Augmented Enterprise Summit is electric! We’re excited so many people have already stopped by our booth to demo SkyLens. And it was great to reconnect with familiar faces from last year's summit! At AES? Stop by booth 313 to demo SkyLens! #AES2024 #AES #AugmentedEnterprise

"Bringing technology into the physical space, especially for kids, and getting them moving means a lot to us," says Erion Adams our software developer. "We hope it sparks creativity, especially in older kids." CARNEVALE's latest project: "Weathering Emotions" at the Grand Rapids Children's Museum! 🌈 ☁️ We had the incredible opportunity to design three digital, interactive stations for this exhibit that help children understand and process emotions using weather concepts. Our team poured creativity and innovation into helping this exhibit come to life. We: 1. Designed for accessibility, ensuring children of all abilities can engage 2. Incorporated advanced technology like: image recognition, dynamic printing, Raspberry Pi, NFC's, and more 3. Created bilingual experiences with English and Spanish options 4. Developed tactile elements and braille for visually impaired visitors Read more from Rapid Growth Media: https://hubs.la/Q02TqTNn0 And visit the Grand Rapids Children's Museum to experience "Weathering Emotions." #GrandRapidsChildrensMuseum #AccessibleDesign #InteractiveLearning Photo: Erion Adams, excited about how technology has the power to heal and is woven into design. Next week, we're in Dallas for the Augmented Enterprise Summit (AES), where we’ll demo our latest AR/VR app, SkyLens. The tech uses gaze tracking, hand interaction, and speaking to visualize location-specific data. The possibilities with these capabilities using real-time data feel endless! SkyLens overlays a tremendous amount of real-time data, and you can “teleport” to any known location on the Earth. We'll be at booth 313, October 15-17; we'd love to show you how we plan to iterate on this experience. If you aren't at AES, get a free trial of SkyLens on Meta Quest (link in comments); we’d love to know what you think (book some time with Mike Carnevale to chat more about our data visualization tools). #VR #VirtualReality #AugmentedReality #AR #XR #FutureOfWork #AES #AES2024 #AugmentedEnterprise

Weathering Emotions at the Grand Rapids Children's Museum is officially open! This morning our team, partners, and community came together to celebrate and reflect on months of collaboration. Stay tuned for more insights into how the country's first children's museum exhibit focused on grief came to be.

We are so honored to have been part of this amazing exhibit opening tomorrow at the Grand Rapids Children's Museum. It's a powerful story and topic that we hope helps others, especially the children in our community, better process and understand their emotions. Thank you for the partnership of i understand, Meta4mat LLC, EV Construction, Apexx Electric, and Ginger Zee.

It’s exciting that we’re only a few weeks from the Augmented Enterprise Summit (AES), where we’ll demo our latest AR/VR app, SkyLens. Explore the sky above you or anywhere in the world. And get a glimpse of how a dynamic data lens, like SkyLens, projects real-time data and can empower your enterprise. Find us at booth 313, Oct 15-17, at AES in Dallas!

In our experience, many development conferences only focus on one topic. That's what makes RenderATL (Render Atlanta) so special. With insightful sessions on mobile, WebDev, and project management, and even music (it's part music festival) — there's a little bit of everything. This was our third year in a row attending Render. One of the biggest highlights from James on our team was the workshop on day one — Building Influence for Engineers & EM's. "When they presented us with a list of action items we'd already been discussing with our CARNEVALE development team, we knew it was a fit." Kelsey Hightower captivated our attention throughout her entire Friday presentation. Which, as I'm sure most of you can relate to — is not an easy thing to do. We're extending a huge thank you to all the people and partners that make conferences like this possible.

As the future of technology leads to more immersive experiences, we, as creators, have the opportunity and responsibility to ensure they are accessible and inclusive. Join us virtually for a live-streamed conversation with Nancy Piersma from Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services and Caitlyn Haisel from CARNEVALE for a talk about how the deaf community navigates advanced digital experiences in everything from web to IoT to XR.

Figma is central to design work at CARNEVALE. And one of the many values in using it? The ability to develop code to get it to function in a way that works best for your team. So when Tyler West, a Designer here at CARNEVALE, was looking for a solution to streamline the content-input process in Figma and couldn't find anything to do what he needed - he made it himself. FIMGAJSON is a free Figma plugin that works to easily populate Figma text elements. With one click, FIGMAJSON can populate several different content components, avoiding monotonous copying and pasting into individual design elements. If that data needs to be updated, the plugin takes the data file and runs the plugin again, updating all the data automatically. Boom! No need for manual input. Running into the same roadblock on your project? You can download this plugin for free at https://hubs.la/Q02LgvCF0

Checkout Mike Carnevale’s thoughts on last weekends DEF CON conference, and the exciting future of software. ⇓
Last weekend, I attended DEF CON, the largest conference for hackers and security professionals. I might have been the only attendee specifically interested in the usefulness and usability of infosec tools, which are continually evolving to become more user-friendly, and that angle led to a lot of fascinating debates. Existing tools primarily consist of command-line interfaces and rudimentary, almost purely utilitarian designs, created by and for the same user base that developed them. However, the stereotypical hacker profile is disappearing as rapidly as the field itself is evolving. More people than ever before, from across the business spectrum, are involved in infosec activities, leading to software changes that reflect the diverse roles and responsibilities of its users. Many of our clients clearly see this future and are investing in improving the user experience of their tools to support a broader audience than just security engineers. The more usable the software, the more quickly an organization can enact an effective and informed response. At CARNEVALE, we're not only delivering solutions for infosec software user experiences, but we're defining the standards of the future, which is incredibly exciting given the critical role that they will play in the years ahead. #infosec #cybersec #cybersecurity #ciso #usability #userinterfaces #defcon
