World Stroke Day Call to Action! Acting fast can save lives! Recognizing stroke symptoms early with BEFAST makes all the difference. E - Eyes: Check for sudden vision changes, like blurred or double vision. F - Face: Look for drooping or unevenness on one side of the face. A - Arms: Check if one arm drifts downward when both are raised, indicating weakness. S - Speech: Listen for slurred speech or difficulty speaking. T - Time: If any of these symptoms are present, it’s time to call emergency services immediately.

This year, our Carondelet Health Network's Brooke Solorzano, MSN, RN, St. Joseph’s Women & Infant Services Director, has been named a Tenet Hero, placing her as among the best of the best among caregivers. Brooke empowers her team to bring forward issues and innovative solutions. She is committed to continuous improvement and patient-centric care while prioritizing the advancement of her staff. Outside of the hospital Brooke volunteers at The Lot at 22nd, where she assists our community members in need with meals, clothing, blankets, hygiene items and other essentials. And on top of all this, Brooke served in the military for 20 years. We are proud of Brooke for being recognized as a Tenet Hero!
