I am so happy to announce that I will be returning to Carpenter & Zuckerman as a Law Clerk while completing my 3L! I had an amazing summer under the guidance of Pejman Ben-Cohen and Megan Gyongyos, who took me in and showed me the ropes of litigation. I had the opportunity to help and attend a trial, deliver my own mini-opening statement, and attend trial warrior sessions, where I was able to gain deeper insight into the process of litigation. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Ross Bautista, Lance Behringer, Cassandra Gyorkos, MPA, and everyone at CZ for making this summer so memorable; I look forward to what the future holds. Now, onto 3L and the bar!

My experience as a Summer Associate at Carpenter & Zuckerman this summer was truly amazing! During this time, I learned various aspects of the litigation process, such as filing complaints, propounding and responding to discovery, shadowing depositions, and observing a trial. An exciting highlight was participating in a Trial Warriors session, where I had the opportunity to practice a mini-opening and voir dire in front of the firm (pictured below). Thrilled to share that I will be returning as a Law Clerk during my 3L year to work remotely while completing law school. I am thankful to supervisors Lance Behringer and Ross Bautista for their guidance and ensuring I gained valuable hands-on experience. Additionally, having Carson Dudick as my mentor has been invaluable in navigating this journey. I look forward to what lies ahead for me at CZ!

Today, John Carpenter, Esq. and I filed a motion to amend our complaint in a civil lawsuit related to the death of Guadalupe Garcia, whose death was caused by excessive force used against him after he was arrested for a DUI. He was left for dead for nearly an hour after being held in a prone position for over 4 minutes and was found in the same position in which he had been left by correctional officers. Guadalupe died in his cell at the South County Detention Center in Tulare County. Our legal team at Carpenter & Zuckerman stand by the Garcia family to obtain justice Truth + Love = Justice

Proud of the $60 Million Riverside jury verdict John Carpenter, Esq. and I obtained in Riverside for our client. This is another win for our legal team at Carpenter & Zuckerman.

Today, a Riverside jury delivered justice for our client with a verdict of $59,913,928.32 in total damages, including $50,000,000 in past and future noneconomic damages. When he was only 15 years old, our client suffered a severe traumatic brain injury as a result of a collision on the 10 freeway near Beaumont. John Carpenter, Esq. and I are grateful to have worked with his State-appointed Guardian Joan Nelms throughout this litigation and trial. This is a win for truth, love, and justice. Proud of the victories our legal team at Carpenter & Zuckerman obtains for our clients.
