Thanks KTVN 2 News Nevada for the coverage! 📸🏥 Grand opening for Carson Valley Health expansion https://lnkd.in/g-xsHvmf They interviewed Melissa Lynam, MSN, RN, our Nurse Manager of the Med-Surg/ICU/Case Management unit. This is the department that cares for patients who end up having hospital stays at Carson Valley Health. Melissa continuously advocates for implementing advanced technology, workflow efficiencies, and patient safety. She supported the great vision CVH had for this expansion and in her role helped initiated the following exciting features to the in-patient unit: ➡️All-private patient rooms ➡️Arranged for all heads of beds to be visual to nurses at documentation stations to give nurses the best visual of patient status and vitals while not needing to disturb the patient while sleeping ➡️Advocated all head wall plugs for nurses are knee to hip level, so the physical layout is set to help support the long-term health of a nurse reducing possibility of injury ➡️Instrumental in getting SMART beds in patient rooms to protect patient’s mobility, healing, and increase safety ➡️Streamlined communication between the SMART beds, alarms, and call lights. Nurses will have a device in their pockets that is connected to these systems, so patients are helped much faster. A little about Melissa: She gives 100% to her job managing 55 RNs, CNA’s, Case Managers, Monitor Techs, and Social Workers across multiple departments. On top of her responsibilities, she has been serving as a Clinical Lead on this expansion. In the last month, she graduated with her Master of Science in Nursing Leadership and Management Degree, all while enjoying time with her husband and three boys. She is truly an asset to the CVH team!!

Carson Valley Health Welcomes Casey Driscoll, APRN, to Senior Care and Primary Care Virginia Ranch Road Casey Driscoll, APRN is accepting patients of all ages at Carson Valley Health Senior Care and Primary Care Virginia Ranch Road. A lifelong Carson Valley resident, Driscoll graduated from Douglas High School and continues to hold appreciation for the area. “I’m excited to work at Carson Valley Health because it’s close to home for my family, and it gives me a chance to give care back to the community where I was raised,” said Casey Driscoll, APRN. Being a nurse was always in the cards for Driscoll. She graduated from Western Governor’s University in Spring 2024. “My friend’s mom worked as a nurse. Growing up and seeing what she was able to do and how she helped people was the inspiration for me to pursue this career. I may be in the new Nurse Practitioner role, but I have all the resources to help my patients, and it’s important to me that my patients are heard,” said Driscoll. Driscoll's previous roles, including as a CNA and then a nurse, have given her well-rounded patient experience spanning from pediatrics to seniors. Her past positions include pediatrics, labor and delivery, hospice care, and 14-years as a hospital volunteer. “When working in the two extremes of labor and delivery/pediatrics and hospice, you are not only working with the patient, but you learn how to incorporate the families as well. This piece of family care and encompassing a patient’s support system into his/her care plan is something I am bringing into my current practice,” Driscoll said. “This is a great opportunity for me to hopefully treat whole families from kids to grandparents." Driscoll has four children and isn’t the first in her family to work at Carson Valley Health. Her husband Sean is currently a Radiology Supervisor. Together the family enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, and letting the kids play outside all summer in their neighborhood. Its mobility allows for flexible placement throughout the hospital, ensuring that hand hygiene is accessible wherever it is needed most. "We are so grateful for the Sacherman's generosity,” says CVH Infection Preventionist Chantale Botsford. “We are improving hand hygiene compliance and education here at Carson Valley Health by utilizing advanced technology from Soapy."
