About us

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Children is a community-based program that recruits, trains, and supports citizen volunteers to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in courtrooms and communities. Volunteer advocates - empowered directly by the courts - offer judges the critical information they need to ensure that each child’s rights and needs are being attended to while in foster care. Volunteers remain appointed to children until they are placed in safe and permanent homes. For many abused children, a CASA volunteer is the only constant adult presence in their lives. MISSION: To provide a qualified and compassionate court-appointed volunteer advocate to every child who is abused and neglected, to ensure the fundamental human right of having a safe, nurturing, and permanent home is met. VISION: Every child who is abused and neglected will have a safe, permanent home and the support to become a healthy, empowered adult, thereby breaking the cycle of abuse and neglect. CORE VALUES: Best Interests of the Child - Will be reflected in every action of the CASA organization. Community Responsibility - Will be served through engagement, education, and transparency. Commitment - Will be upheld to the child, to our volunteers, and to our supporters. Collaboration - Will be created through cross systemic work and seeking common ground. Dignity and Respect - Will be demonstrated through each interaction with every person.
