Join us in celebrating with Patrick Little Jr., a 2024 CASE Legacy Award recipient! Patrick teaches at Clarkrange High School in Tennessee. After completing his ABF and AHVS certifications this year, Patrick holds certification in all available CASE courses. That is 14 courses and over 650 hours of professional development! In addition, for the past two years, Mr. Little has provided invaluable insight and mentorship to teachers nationwide as a Lead Teacher for APT and AEMT CASE Institutes. Meet this year's 2024 CASE Model Teacher Engagement is critical in agriculture education. The CASE Model Teacher Award recognizes those who exemplify this quality, and Andrea Flegler of Clay Center is a prime candidate. Andrea is certified in seven CASE courses. She has incorporated CASE courses such as Animal Science and Plant and Soil Science as science credits, boosting enrollment and funding. She effectively adapts instruction for students with IEPs, ensuring all learners receive the support they need to succeed. Meet this year's 2024 CASE Innovation Award recipient! Jamie Christiansen’s work at Midland High School showcases the impact of innovative teaching in agricultural education. A unique project emerged when former student and swine producer, Eli Slouha, asked if her ARD students could help market his purebred Berkshire pork. The students jumped in, creating data and fact sheets for Eli’s marketing efforts. A key challenge was measuring pork tenderness. With John Bergin's advice, students used a force sensor to develop a protocol comparing Eli’s pork to that from Fareway and Walmart. This real-world project gave her students valuable hands-on experience while supporting local agriculture! #TeachCASE #ExperienceCASE #CASE4Learning #CASEcurriculum
