  • It is so great to see the continued success of this program of 2021 Sustainability Leadership Award Winner, Bentley University!

We are delighted to report the outstanding success of this year's Give N' Go program. Bentley University's Give N' Go program is an annual program that allows students to donate and repurpose items during move-out, allowing for substantial waste diversion from landfills. All items remaining following the donation and collection period are donated to local charities.    Here’s a snapshot of some of the numbers from this year's program:  •Total donations for the event: 690  •Total number who participated in taking items: 439  •12,300 lb of materials donated to Goodwill Morgan Memorial in Boston •1,660 lb donated to Healthy Waltham. In total, 13,960 pounds were diverted from the waste stream. This is a 20.92% increase in donations from last year’s Give N' Go program and these numbers represent an increase of nearly 25% in participants for the program compared to last year. This remarkable success reflects the spirit of generosity and community that thrived throughout the event. Thank you to all 44 of our incredible staff & faculty volunteers who make Give N' Go possible every year and Casella Waste Systems, Inc. for supporting us in this success! ♻️

In our industry, we often see things in perfectly good condition end up in the waste stream. At Casella, we go above and beyond for our customers and communities, calling attention to the items we see and proposing solutions to find the material its highest and best use. Non-perishable food collection during college move-out is a perfect example of this—diverting this material from disposal and putting it into the hands of those in need. 🗣 : Meghan Weeden - Business Development Manager Check out how Casella’s Dustin Carnes and Tansy Sanchez teamed up with Collegetown Terrace Apartments to make a sustainable impact on the Tompkins County community.
