The Oldest Newest Neighborhood Cathedral District Jax is growing a leafy, vibrant neighborhood in the heart of Downtown Jacksonville. Anchored by five historic churches, the 36-block Cathedral District will include businesses, residential housing, neighborhood schools, public art, employment opportunities and more. Our goal is to create a community with love at its core. A thriving enclave where residents of all ages, backgrounds, interests and abilities can live, work, and play together. Request for Proposals Cathedral Hill Entryway Art CDJ is inviting all artists to help us bring the vision of Cathedral Hill to life with a $43,500 investment into two entryway art installations. With the financial support of AARP Community Challenge Grant, the Downtown Investment Authority (DIA), St. John’s Cathedral sponsored by Preston and Joan Haskell, Aging True and JEA, CDJ is sending out a Call for Artist to create a welcoming entryway art installation that reinforces the architectural and historical identity of Cathedral Hill.
