🌱 On-the-ground site visits are critical to project quality. They allow us to see a project’s impact up close, and engage with local stakeholders in person. In Montana, we met with local ranchers dedicated to land stewardship who are adopting regenerative grazing techniques that improve soil health and sequester more carbon. We got to see firsthand how they’re working to support each other to change ranching practices for the better. 🤠 👇 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/ghz7vYXK

When evaluating new projects for our investment portfolio, we like to get up close. 🔎 Site visits are a key aspect of our diligence process — we can assess the viability of potential projects first-hand. 🌎 Like our visits to Colombia, Brazil and Malawi, which helped us determine developers’ capabilities to implement high-impact projects, and gain the invaluable perspectives of local community-members. 💚 👇 Discover more benefits of site visits: https://lnkd.in/ghz7vYXK

There are some things geospatial analysis just can’t capture. So our experts regularly conduct site visits around the world to check in on our projects. 🌎 Our team’s visit to this Forest Garden agroforestry project in western Kenya gave us the opportunity to monitor the project’s progress and impact, and work more closely with our project development partner Trees for the Future — while getting direct feedback from participant farmers, and engaging the local community more deeply than we ever could from behind a screen. 🫱🏼🫲🏾 👇 Read all about it (and more on our monitoring strategy): https://lnkd.in/ghz7vYXK

Hats off to the graduates! 1,300 Forest Garden farmers graduated in Kenya last week! After four years of training in regenerative agroforestry and the Forest Garden Approach, each of these farmers is now an expert in these techniques and able to protect their land for generations to come. Climate-smart agriculture is a critical piece of climate action. We're proud to work with thousands of farmers across sub-Saharan Africa doing just that. We celebrate our recent graduates and look forward to many, many more in the years to come! Check out the latest in Africa.com - https://bit.ly/3XEKHQ8 #ClimateWeek #ClimateWeekNYC Catona Climate
