👷 Phased Array technology is an advanced form of ultrasonic testing that's revolutionizing the way we inspect and maintain critical infrastructure! Unlike traditional inspection methods, Phased Array allows for more comprehensive and accurate assessments of equipment, pipelines, and systems without the need for costly shutdowns—especially crucial during routine maintenance and shutdowns where operations can continue without disruption.   Key Benefits of Phased Array Inspections:   1⃣️ Enhanced Sensitivity: Capable of detecting smaller defects that traditional radiography (RT) might miss, especially if the flaw isn’t aligned with the x-ray source. 2⃣️ Thicker Metal Penetration: Inspects through thicker metal more reliably than conventional RT, making it ideal for large or dense components. 3⃣️ No Radiation Hazards: Unlike x-ray inspections, phased array can be performed without halting operations or welding due to radiation concerns. 4⃣️ Accurate Defect Sizing: Provides highly precise identification and measurement of defects, allowing for more accurate assessments and quicker corrective actions. 5⃣️ Cost Efficiency: Minimizes downtime by avoiding the need for shutdowns during inspections, keeping operations running smoothly. 6⃣️ Versatile Application: Effective across a wide range of industries and systems, including pipelines, mechanical, electrical, and steam systems.   These inspections ensure that even the smallest anomalies are identified before they become big problems.   👉 Want to learn more about how Phased Array and our advanced inspection technologies can improve your operations? 🤝 RTR recently partnered with one of our sister companies, CATSI, Inc., to complete a comprehensive thermal inspection at an asphalt plant CPI terminal. While RTR focused on drone-based thermal scanning of the process heater exterior to detect hot spots lead by Harold Miller, CATSI's Ed Haynicz conducted ground-level and interior measurements using a handheld Flir camera. Hot spots indicate areas where material has thinned, leading to inefficient energy use and increased safety risks due to faster heat penetration. With real-time client access to our inspection via a remote viewing station (built by Mike Kunkel), our teams provided detailed insights crucial for enhancing both safety and energy efficiency within the facility. Thermal scanning in the asphalt industry is vital not only for preventing costly energy loss but also for mitigating potential hazards that could compromise plant safety. We always appreciate the opportunity to team up with our sister companies, combining our complementary services to deliver holistic solutions. Cheers to everyone who contributed to making this another successful project! #DroneSurvey #AerialInspection #ProjectHighlight #SurveyingSolutions #DroneTechnology #RemoteSensing #AssetInspection #ThermalScanning #FLIR #PoweredByOurPeople

Today, we pause to remember a day that changed the course of history—September 11, 2001. It was a moment that tested the strength and resilience of a nation, a day marked by immense tragedy and loss. We remember exactly where we were, what we were doing, and the disbelief we felt as we witnessed those events unfold. But amidst the darkness, the human spirit shone through, and we saw communities and strangers unite, offering support, kindness, and love. In the years since, the memory of that day has shaped who we are, both as individuals and as a society. It has reminded us of the power of unity, the strength that comes from standing together, and the importance of resilience in the face of adversity. Reflecting on 9/11 is not just about honoring those we lost; it is about remembering how far we have come and recommitting ourselves to the values of empathy and perseverance. We have never forgotten, and we never will. Today, we honor the lives lost, the heroes who stepped forward, and the enduring spirit that binds us all. #NeverForget #September11 #StrongerTogether #UnitedWeStand

📸 Check out this fantastic moment of our Chief Inspector, Eric Johnson, captured by his DJI Mavic drone as he completed a flight around a tank, evaluating the coating condition along the top wind girder. Soft conditions inside the dike and piping interferences prohibited man-lift access, but with Eric's expertise and our advanced UAV technology, we were able to overcome these obstacles. Regular tank inspections are crucial in the industries we serve, such as the oil & gas, chemical, and power sectors. They ensure safety, compliance, and operational efficiency. By leveraging UAV technology, we can perform detailed and accurate inspections, even in hard-to-reach locations, minimizing risks and downtime. At CATSI, we're committed to providing innovative solutions and top-tier inspection services. Want to learn more about our capabilities? Magnetic Crawler Surveys are becoming a critical component of holistic inspection services, offering a unique solution for evaluating hard to reach areas. Equipped with magnetic wheels, these crawlers adhere to the inner surface of metallic surfaces, particularly effective for inspecting ferrous pipelines. This feature offers stability and precise maneuverability, making them invaluable in industries such as oil & gas where metallic pipelines are prevalent. What magnetic crawlers can detect: ➡️ Material Thickness: Assess the remaining wall thickness of equipment to predict its lifespan and schedule maintenance. ➡️ Corrosion: Identify areas of corrosion that may compromise the structural integrity of the equipment. ➡️ Cracks and Defects: Detect surface and subsurface cracks, ensuring early intervention before they lead to failure. ➡️ Weld Quality: Inspect welds for potential weaknesses or defects that could impact the performance and safety of the equipment. In industries such as Oil & Gas, Chemical Processing, and Power Generation, maintaining the integrity of storage tanks, pipelines, and other critical infrastructure is paramount. Magnetic Crawler Surveys enable precise, efficient, and safe inspections, minimizing downtime and ensuring compliance with stringent safety regulations. Discover how our magnetic crawlers and other NDE services can benefit your operations. 🏭 In the world of chemical process equipment, two key questions stand out: what to check and how often? Proper inspections are critical to ensuring safety. In fact, according to the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board (CSB), approximately 70% of incidents in chemical facilities could have been prevented through better process safety management and regular equipment inspections. Here are some important tips: Pressure Vessels: Include any vessel with a pressure >15 psig or with a vacuum rating on your inspection list. Don't forget pipe coils and most filters, as they rely on pressure to move fluid. Corrosion: Always consider corrosion when scheduling inspections. Corrosive service can significantly shorten equipment life. Pressure Relief Systems: Regularly replace rupture discs and test relief valves, especially in high-risk areas like chlorine operations. Other Items: Periodic inspections are also essential for atmospheric and low-pressure tanks, piping, instruments, electrical systems, structural steel, and sewers. Using a combination of visual inspections, non-destructive testing (NDT), and rigorous routine checks ensures your equipment operates safely and efficiently. For comprehensive chemical process equipment inspections, consult CATSI to maintain optimal performance and safety standards! https://lnkd.in/edHtb-Q8 #ChemicalSafety #ProcessSafety #EquipmentInspection #IndustrialSafety #CorrosionControl #NDT #AssetIntegrity #SafetyManagement #OperationalExcellence
