Our farmers are the stewards of the land and leaders when it comes to conservation, recycling and overall sustainability. As Greg Rejman of our member farm Sunnyside Farms in Scipio Center, NY points out, overcoming the challenges in protecting our environment does not just lie with the farmer. It takes a collaborative effort of local and state officials, politicians, educational institutions, research entities, and coalitions of farmers and others driven to protect our planet and her precious resources. https://lnkd.in/eYuJsNrP

Cayuga Milk Ingredients and Cayuga Marketing are proud to announce that Sunnyside Farms, a multi-generational dairy farm led by the Rejman family in Cayuga County, has received the prestigious 2024 New York Agricultural Environmental Management (AEM)-Leopold Conservation Award! Nominated by the Cayuga County Soil and Water Conservation District, Sunnyside Farms exemplifies the spirit of environmental stewardship through continuous improvement and a deep commitment to preserving our natural resources. NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets Commissioner Richard Ball and the Sand County Foundation honored Sunnyside Farms for their outstanding contributions to environmental sustainability and their role as a cornerstone of the local community. The Rejmans are also founding farmer members of the Partners for Healthy Watersheds coalition, which for over a decade has advocated for sustainable and feasible nutrient management practices in local watersheds, helping to promote water quality and community education. Congratulations to the Rejman family for this well-deserved recognition!
