Solving CT’s workforce challenges is critical to future growth. It’s been a privilege working with Kate Dias and Connecticut Education Association to address gaps in our educational system for those CT grads who are not on a college track. Expanding internships, apprenticeships and experiential learning is key to supporting our 12,000 grads each year who do not go on to college or the military. https://lnkd.in/eH_AJXV9

Amid pressure from some groups to weaken Connecticut's fiscal guardrails—the key factor driving the state's new-found fiscal health—Connecticut Office of the State Comptroller Sean Scanlon says “what we’re doing is working,” adding “I think that we have certainly not reached a point where anyone—certainly not myself—is going to say, ‘mission accomplished.’” #connecticut #taxpayerROI #affordability #reimagineCT

Thanks Kate Dias and Joslyn DeLancey for the chance to join you both—as an "unusual guest"—on the latest edition of the Connecticut Education Association's Two T's in a Pod podcast. Our teachers and schools are central players for developing Connecticut's workforce and laying the foundation for driving economic growth. We're thrilled to have CEA as a major CBIA Foundation partner and appreciate their collaboration and support for the foundation's Opportunity Connecticut economic action plan. #connecticut #workforce #careerpathways #education #reimaginect

The powerful stories shared by young Connecticut residents at the release of the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities' plan to address the state's disconnected youth crisis clearly highlighted the issue's human costs. There's an economic cost also—$400 million annually for state services and $350 million in lost tax revenue—that further emphasizes the need to reconnect 119,000 disengaged youth and provide resources and pathways to career and life opportunities. Many of the plan's recommendations also mirror parts of the CBIA Foundation's Opportunity Connecticut economic action plan that reimagines our workforce, economy, and quality of life. https://bit.ly/4dFBq0m #connecticut #opportunity #careerpathways #reimaginect

What a great treasure Connecticut has in the Stamford Museum & Nature Center! Appreciate the time Melissa H. Mulrooney, Keith Friedman, and Liz Sabia took to explain the mission of the museum, which was founded in 1936, and is now home to a pre-school, summer camp, playground, walking trails, farm, museum, event space, and an under-construction planetarium/astronomy center. And loved the new dinosaur exhibit, featuring fossils on loan from the American Museum of Natural History.
