Hannah Freeman, better known as "Indian Hannah", was the last surviving member of the Lenape in what is now known as Chester County. Hannah famously traded items like baskets and brooms and tended a small farm to earn a living. Hannah can be considered an activist of her time as she was proud of her heritage, preserved parts of Native American culture, and spoke of wrongdoings against her people. #chestercounty #nativeamericanheritagemonth
