About us

The Cherry Creek Schools Foundation, founded in 1993 as a 501c(3) nonprofit, connects our community to the Cherry Creek School District by identifying resources and partnerships that result in impact through innovative programs and meaningful educational opportunities for all students and educators. Since its inception, CCSF has awarded over 1,000 Educator Initiative Grants that fund the work of classroom teachers who ensure that all of our students are prepared for an ever-changing world. The Foundation has raised more than $8.5 million for groundbreaking educational programs that have touched all of our schools and students. From elementary school literacy programs, to middle school engineering programs, to high school ethics programs, the Foundation financially backs ideas that get results across all curriculums and grade levels. The Foundation relies on you and continues to build long-term relationships with you as business leaders and individuals who know that investing in our students is important for our future. CCSF’s funding affects all students within the district by supporting the growth and diversity of our community and embracing students’ broad range of multicultural and socio-economic needs. The Cherry Creek Schools Foundation supports the mission of the Cherry Creek School District: To inspire every student to think, to learn, to achieve and to care. With your help, it all adds up.

  • We are “knot” messing around with how this project “ties” together social-emotional learning! In the 2023-24 school year, Dakota Valley Elementary social worker Jamal Jackson used an Educator Initiative Grant (EIG) from the Foundation to purchase supplies for positive affirmation bracelets, fidget toys, a social-emotional Wheel of Fortune game, and more to help support emotional self-regulation in students. “This allowed me to be completely creative with my service delivery to all students at Dakota Valley Elementary. Thank you so much for the opportunity!” Thanks to our donors, who help educators make a positive impact – stay tuned to see how this school year’s EIG recipients are bringing learning to life!

  • We put the “eye” in science with this school project (but please, don’t have a cow). In the 2023-24 school year, Horizon Community Middle School science teacher Lauren Dill used an Educator Initiative Grant (EIG) from the Foundation to provide all her sixth-grade students with an opportunity for hands-on learning about structures of the eye. She connected this to the solar eclipse, so students could directly see the parts of the eye impacted by sun exposure and were able to better understand the necessity of protective eyewear when observing the eclipse together. “While the experience was 'gross' and 'disgusting', students reported that they loved it! The first day of school this year, I had my now 7th graders coming back to tell me how much they miss 6th grade science and how cool the dissection was.” Thanks to our donors, who help educators make a positive impact – stay tuned to see how this school year’s EIG recipients are bringing learning to life!

Thank you to our taxpayers, who said "YES" to career pathways for students, investing in educators, safe schools, mental health supports, and more. Thank you, thank you, thank you -- your support means a world of promise for our next generation of learners and leaders.

  • Funding education has a “pattern” of creating works of art! In the 2023-24 school year, Canyon Creek Elementary art teacher Amanda Arlington used an Educator Initiative Grant (EIG) from the Foundation to bring her students to the Denver Art Museum to learn about color, pattern, and art history. “The students loved connecting their learning in the classroom to the museum setting. I was so impressed with the students' work and their willingness to experiment.” Thanks to our donors, who help educators make a positive impact – stay tuned to see how this school year’s EIG recipients are bringing learning to life!

  • Education can be so “energizing” and teaches you “watt” really matters! In the 2023-24 school year, Eaglecrest High School science teacher Chani Mills used an Educator Initiative Grant (EIG) from the Foundation to help students understand the functionality, mobility and potential of renewable energy. “This was a wonderful way to get students outside and using the equipment. The students also learned about real-world applications for renewable energy.” Thanks to our donors, who help educators make a positive impact – stay tuned to see how this school year’s EIG recipients are bringing learning to life!
