This month we are celebrating the 2nd anniversary of Cedar Hill Urgent Care GW Health. Since its opening in 2022, the urgent care has had over 30,000 visits and obtained a 4.7 Google Star review, making it one of the busiest urgent cares in the UHS network and a staple in the Southeast DC community. “The Cedar Hill Urgent Care team is committed to improving the quality of health East of the River” shared Donielle Beck, Practice Manager at Cedar Hill Urgent Care GW Health. We thank our staff for their dedication and hard work and look forward to continuing to provide quality healthcare for our DC residents.

Earlier this week, Anthony B. Coleman, DHA, CEO, and Vaughn Williams, MHSA, COO facilitated a tour of Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health for members of the Ward 8 Health Council and Dreaming Out Loud, Inc. Our dynamic duo highlighted important facets of the hospital, including the verified trauma center, the adult and children emergency department, and women’s health and maternity ward. We topped the tour off taking in views of our beautiful city atop the hospital helipad which will enable transport to level I & ll trauma centers. The hospital will also be equipped with a pharmacy and lab. Thank you to Jaren Hill Lockridge for your partnership and advocacy of our new community hospital and healthcare system East of the River. As an added bonus, we ran into Ward 8’s very own Lamont Moore and S’Nai Lee, who have been directly involved on the construction side, working with Turner Construction Company/ MCN Build, to deliver this hospital to residents in early 2025!

Yesterday, Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health had the wonderful opportunity to join the Ward 8 Health Council and the DC Department of Health for the Ward 8 Health Council Youth Resource Fair. The fair, held in collaboration with CompuRecycling Center’s Medical Ascension, included health stations and interactive discussions/presentations led by the youth. Students received their own Medical Ascension Clinical Kits with stethoscopes, blood pressure cuffs, thermometers, tape measures, and stopwatches to check pulse rate. With these kits, they can continue to do health monitoring and screenings at home. Cedar Hill Urgent Care GW Health had a booth at the fair, handing out goodies and providing more information about our new vaccination and school physical programs.
