Exciting updates for 2024! The new CPT code set includes advancements in AI and telemedicine, providing clearer guidelines for integrating AI in healthcare. Assistive AI helps identify important data for doctors, augmentative AI analyzes data to support clinical decisions, and autonomous AI makes recommendations based on the data. These changes also set new criteria for telemedicine services, ensuring high-quality virtual care that meets in-person standards and improves patient outcomes, especially in rural and vulnerable communities. In specific these telemedicine services will be supported in, "facilitating a diagnosis or treatment plan that may reduce complications" through CPT codes covering AI products (like Celeste's ExactRx!!!). Healthcare needs to innovate or we will not survive. Let me be clear. 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐞-𝐭𝐨-𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞. It is an absolutely crucial piece that determines whether #healthcare as we know it will survive in the near future. We have sick patients waiting 16-24 hours in emergency departments. We have beds lining up in corridors of medical wards. We have clinicians leaving healthcare in droves. We have cancer patients missing the boat on curative treatment due to delays. We have let our patients down. And we will continue to do so in our current status quo. And things WILL only get worse from here if we stand still. 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐮𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐥. We need more healthcare #innovators. We need more #founders stepping up the plate to challenge the status quo. These are the ideas changing the world in 2024. For Fast Company’s World Changing Ideas Awards this year, we saw hundreds of projects tackling climate change, from Boston Metal's efforts to green the steel industry to the first fully recycled concrete building in the world from Holcim.
