📅 Save the Date! On September 12, the JFK Library Foundation honors President Kennedy’s Moonshot speech with an award to help combat climate change. The inaugural Earthshot Innovation Challenge: Northeast U.S. Edition celebrates 3 finalists, Afterlife Ag, Cellsense, and itselectric, for their climate innovations. Join us online or in person and see how our three finalists have challenged the spirit of JFK’s Moonshot in their work to combat climate change, from upcycling food waste to reducing the amount of microplastics to bringing equitable EV car charging to cities. The Earthshot Innovation Challenge: Northeast U.S. Edition is presented in partnership with The Earthshot Prize, and The ‘Quin Impact Fund to ignite Northeast-U.S.-based innovations to address climate change. Cellsense is excited to be part of the Redesign Everything Accelerator by What Design Can Do, IKEA Foundation, and SECRID! Last month, we kicked off the program in Amsterdam with a week of workshops, studio visits, and networking events. We had the honor of presenting our startup, Cellsense, in front of an audience of 700 at the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ. Our bio-embellishments aim to eliminate microplastics and unethical labor in the fashion industry. Being selected as a winner in the Materials category is a significant milestone for us. A massive thank you to the organizers, Paula Robitsch, Tugce Akbulut, Pepijn Zurburg, and Xander Straat, for curating such an impactful event. Meeting fellow winners and sharing a sense of community was incredibly inspiring. Congratulations to all! Cellsense has been named a winner of the #RedesignEverythingChallenge by What Design Can Do Alongside 10 other winning teams from around the world, we will now enter an accelerator programme to develop our ideas and impact. We will also be taking part in a showcase of creative climate solutions at the upcoming #WDCD2024 festival, taking place in Amsterdam on 5 July 2024.
