According to our 2024 Employability Report, nearly three-quarters of tech employers anticipate the need to upskill and retrain their teams over the next three to five years. "Employers can accomplish (an always-on approach to retraining) by developing comprehensive skilling programs and fostering a culture of learning to ensure employees are routinely upskilling and using those skills," our SVP Rya Conrad-Bradshaw said. Earlier this month, the Milady team hosted their annual Team Retreat in Albany. Over two action-packed days, the group participated in sessions led by Alexander Broich (PhD), EVP and President Cengage Select, and supportive Cengage Group partners, focusing on financial literacy and creating winning strategies. Team members also had the chance to share insights on building successful careers, managing stress with resilience, celebrating success and emphasizing the importance of customers. Michael Hansen, CEO, joined virtually to provide encouragement and answer questions. Additionally, the Executive Team prepared a thoughtful video montage, sharing their experiences with resilience. The fun didn’t stop at learning! The team had a great time getting to know one another on a personal level, exchanging gifts representing their home states and enjoying a night of celebration and karaoke at the Fête de Noir Dinner Party, where they acknowledged Milady milestones. The retreat was a resounding success, providing an invaluable opportunity for the team to recharge and recommit to their collective success. #workplaceculture #employeeexperience #professionaldevelopment

Our Beijing office recently moved to a new location within the city. To celebrate, employees in that region organized an ‘opening ceremony.’ Iris Dong, Regional Employee Relations Consultant, who spearheaded the office renovation, gave employees an introduction to the new space, highlighting its modern and inviting design. Roy Lee, Managing Director and Vice President of Asia, and Thomas Tan, Vice President of Finance & Operations, deliver inspiring speeches, setting the tone for this exciting new chapter. Irene Wang, Senior Administration Executive, shared that, “the new office features a shared desk concept, offering a dynamic, flexible and collaborative environment for our team. Although we no longer have assigned workstations, the feedback from employees has been overwhelmingly positive.” #globaleducation #edtech #companyculture

32 employees from across the business recently came together to participate in LEAD!, a professional development opportunity that took place across 2 ½ days in Mason, OH. This event marked the kickoff of a 10-month pilot leadership development program that we aim to expand in coming years. The entire Executive team plans to engage at different points during the 10-month program and Jim Chilton, Jeri Herman, Nhaim Khoury, Bob Munro and Darren Person joined the kickoff to provide insight, context, coaching and to connect with leaders. The event was an immersive experience where attendees refined their leadership skills by exploring emotional intelligence, coaching and leading change. The group also engaged in discussions around business strategy and finance through exciting team-based simulations. Jeri shared, “the Executive Team continues to recognize the importance of developing leadership skills as we continue to drive growth and change in the organization. We believe strongly that so much of this development comes from the exchange of ideas and learnings across the group, and we are able to both contribute to and learn alongside one another by prioritizing our engagement throughout the program.” Events like these are an example of our commitment to investing in our people and developing strong leaders within our organization. #leadership #professionaldevelopment #mentorship
