We are delighted to announce the release of CCA’s 2024 annual report! Thank you so much for supporting our advocacy this year. You, our staff and our board members showed once again our steadfast commitment to vulnerable children. We answered the question that drives all of CCA’s work: “Who will speak for me?” Our staff spoke up for children, while also expanding the universe of people who can speak up for children by empowering youth, parents and professionals to become strong children’s advocates themselves. Read stories of our impact, made possible by the courageous children and youth and the support of our donors. Read our full 2024 annual report: https://lnkd.in/ejJJx6qV

Who will speak for me? Fighting for the legal rights of Connecticut's most vulnerable children
About us
Fighting for the legal rights of Connecticut's most vulnerable children. The Center for Children's Advocacy is a nonprofit law firm that provides legal representation and advocacy for the poorest, most at-risk children and youth. The work is difficult and it is critical: abuse and neglect, racial justice, educational inequities, immigration, youth homelessness, juvenile justice, access to medical and mental health care. We have offices in Connecticut's largest and poorest cities, and our mobile office goes directly to youth in communities that need us the most. The Center provides legal representation and advocacy that gives at-risk children the opportunity every child should have: a chance to lead a healthy and productive life.

Join us in welcoming CCA's new staff attorney for our School Justice Project, Attorney Zoe Masters. Before joining CCA, Attorney Masters was an Equal Justice Works fellow at Education Law Center-PA in Philadelphia, where she represented young people attending alternative and nontraditional public schools to advance their education civil rights; trained young people on their education civil rights in collaboration with community partners; and created a data-based report about school pushout and alternative education. Attorney Masters graduated from Yale Law School in 2022. Before law school, she taught high school science in Boston for 5 years. While teaching, she co-founded a group for educators to come together from different schools and engage in dialogue and action toward a more equitable public school system. Attorney Masters' work at CCA focuses on advocating for young people who have experienced contact with the juvenile legal system. She represents individual students, works with community partners, and engages in legislative and other strategic systemic advocacy.
