  • If you are passionate about suicide prevention and saving lives, then you don’t want to miss this upcoming training on "Helping Save Lives Using the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scales" (CSSRS). Get equipped with the knowledge and tools you need to support those at risk and reduce the prevalence of suicide within our communities. Suicide prevention is a critical issue, and the Columbia Protocol, also known as the Columbia-Suicide Severity Rating Scale, has proven to be an effective tool in the assessment and prevention of suicide. By asking simple, plain-language questions, the CSSRS helps identify individuals at risk for suicide, assesses the severity of that risk, and determines the appropriate level of support needed. Best of all, there is no cost to attend this webinar. Thanks to funding from the Vermont Department of Mental Health, we are able to offer this training to you free of charge. Don't miss this opportunity to enhance your understanding of suicide prevention and make a difference in your community! Space is limited, so make sure to secure your spot today. Register now at: https://ow.ly/8yio50TCJCV Together, let's work towards a world where every life is valued and protected. Join us for this training, and let's make a positive impact together! • The Center for Health and Learning hosted the 2024 Zero Suicide Skills Institute yesterday at Killington.  Our theme for the day was Creating Sustainability in your Suicide Prevention work using implementation science to solidify and ensure fidelity to practices, policies, and procedures over time.  We were joined by 10 Designated Mental Health Agencies and 2 Specialized Service Agencies from our Vermont Zero Suicide Project Community of Practice.  Partners from the Department of Mental Health and the Department of Health also joined us.  The day was spent learning from each other to help improve suicide prevention and awareness-building efforts here in Vermont in our mental health system of care and across our communities. CHL is so grateful for our partnership with this group, and we look forward to continuing this vital work in the coming year.

  • Today is World Mental Health Day! It was established by the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH) on October 10, 1992, to raise awareness in the global community about critical mental health agendas. This year, the WFMH chose the theme "It is Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace." Get your copy of Mental Health America's Mind the Workplace 2024 Report: Healthy Workplaces Lead with Trust and Support to explore how business leaders can integrate mental health into their workplace's infrastructure and culture with healthy employer practices. https://ow.ly/nga050TIO70 #WorldMentalHealthDay #mentalhealthawareness #centerforhealthandlearning #MHA
