Did you know the Center for Technology Licensing works with apple researchers and developers in the Cornell University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences to license apple varieties - along with many other fruits and vegetables? Recently, CTL released Geneva Rootstocks, a symbol that reflects Cornell's commitment to providing apple growers worldwide with disease-resistant rootstocks tailored to specific environments. Learn more about rootstocks: https://lnkd.in/eT53aCdH
You may not realize it, but that apple you snack on or bake into a pie may have come from Cornell. Since 1890, the apple breeders in the Cornell University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and Cornell AgriTech have released 69 varieties of America’s favorite fruit. In keeping with Cornell’s role as New York’s land-grant university, the apples are developed with the state’s climate, disease, and pest conditions in mind — but they’re grown and sold around the globe. We showcase a baker’s dozen of varieties developed at Cornell — home to the nation’s oldest apple breeding program.

At this year's #LSIUSA25, attendees will have the chance to hear from Cornell spinout Acuamark Diagnostics, Inc.! Francis Barany, a professor at Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences, developed the clinical validation of novel liquid biopsy assay that Acuamark is using for diagnostics for multiple cancers.
As we gear up for #LSIUSA25 we’re showcasing the innovators from around the globe who are selected to present in Dana Point, California. Today we’re showcasing: 1. Bernard Peperstraete — Acuamark Diagnostics, Inc. → Optimizing qPCR and dPCR for early cancer detection and cancer recurrence. Its approach is designed to provide highly accurate results to physicians and patients at a fraction of the cost per life saved. With market-leading clinical results in stage 1-4 colorectal cancer, Acuamark is currently developing diagnostics for multiple cancers. 2. Patrick MacCarthy — Butterfly Medical → Developing an innovative treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The company's implantable device can be inserted without surgery to provide relief from symptomatic BPH. The implantation procedure can be performed in under ten minutes in a physician's office using local anesthesia. 3. Roberta Lee — Sonescence, Inc./Sonopor, Inc./Sonofii, Inc. → Developed a Dynamic Dual Therapy to treat intractable soft tissue infections. The company's first clinical trial had an 80% success in curing infections that failed conventional therapy. We look forward to seeing these innovators take the stage March 17th - 21st in Dana Point. Want to see what other innovators are presenting at LSI USA ‘25? Head over to our website to see the 125+ innovators selected to present. Interested in presenting at the event?
