Our vision is to end the cycle of child abuse through advocacy, education and community support.
About us
The Center for Child Protection, a nationally accredited children’s advocacy center, is the first stop for children in Travis County who are suspected victims of sexual abuse, physical abuse and for children who have witnessed a violent crime. The Center is a child-friendly, specially-equipped facility where children go for recorded forensic interviews, medical exams, counseling and intervention during the investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases. It is the only nonprofit in Travis County involved in the investigation of crimes against children. All services are provided to children and their protective caregivers at no charge and most are available in English and Spanish. Children are referred to the Center for Child Protection for services exclusively through law enforcement and Child Protective Services when one or more of the following circumstances have occurred: - A child made an outcry of sexual abuse. - A child has experienced physical abuse. - A child has witnessed a violent crime.

A big thanks to this incredible group of volunteers from Volunteering Untapped ATX! 🌼 They brightened our space by painting stunning flowers on our fence, edging our side garden, and wrapped it all up with a tour of the Center. The children we serve use our backyard regularly as a calming space to enjoy outdoor activities and participate in therapy. We are so grateful for your hard work and support! ✨🐶 Did you know dogs can do much more than play fetch? The Center for Child Protection's specially trained facility dogs provide comfort and support to children recovering from trauma. 🐾 Thanks to a generous grant from the Austin Bar Foundation, we are expanding our facility dog program to include additional canine healers. 🦮 These pups will eventually provide an additional full week of animal-assisted intervention to Travis County kids. Thank you Austin Bar Foundation! ✨

I help client facing professionals to overcome anxiety and awkwardness at business, social, and networking events to improve confidence, grow sales, and develop deeper customer relationships
How can an organization host a highly successful fundraiser as counterprogramming to another popular event? On the latest episode of the Fun In Fundraising podcast, I talk with the Center for Child Protection Director of Donor Relations Amy Cranfill and Events Manager Kirby Cathey about the organization's annual Play Bingo Ladies Luncheon. Held on a Saturday morning each year, the Play Bingo Ladies Luncheon is one of Austin's most popular fundraising events. The event has over 1,000 people and almost always sells out within 24 hours of the announcement of the event. What makes this feat even all the more remarkable is that this year's luncheon is on the same weekend as a popular worldwide event, The Formula One Grand Prix. In this episode, Amy and Kirby talk about a wide range of topics including tips on getting your audience excited about your event months before it happens, creating a fun, engaging event format, and how to create a successful counterprogramming strategy. This is one episode you will not want to miss.
