Hannah Griffis, the Director of Mental Health here at The CARE Center, was able to sit down with News 9 to share some details about Making Sense of Your Worth! Making Sense of Your Worth is a program designed to teach teen girls their self worth and encourages them to learn the necessary skills to remain confident during life’s challenges. We could not be happier to offer this program to the teen girls we serve here and we cannot wait to see how this program positively impacts the girls involved. Thank you for having us, News 9! 🧡

🚨 URGENT CALL TO ACTION 🚨 - Friends and supporters, we need your help TODAY! Tomorrow, HB3777 will be heard on the House Floor, and it poses a severe threat to the victims we serve. This bill could re-victimize and harass crime victims, lacks judicial oversight, and will unfairly expand subpoena power. 👇 Take action now 👇 🏛️ Contact Your Representatives: Find your personal and district Representatives using this link 🔗 https://lnkd.in/ghEzPcgf. 📲 Call and Email: Use the script below to urge them to VOTE NO on HB3777. - Script: “My name is __________. I live in ___________ District. I urge you to VOTE NO on HB3777 this week. It will hurt the child victims of crime we serve in your District. Here are multiple reasons to VOTE NO: - HB 3777 poses the potential to re-victimize and harass victims. - This bill allows the defense to acquire materials prior to even victims having access. - In domestic, sexually motivated, or homicide cases, these materials can be personal to victims and should go through the criminal discovery process at the appropriate time. - HB 3777 Lacks Judicial Oversight - A judge is not involved in the included process unless law enforcement or a civilian proactively contests a subpoena. - Oklahoma victims should not have to also fight their own subpoena battles. - HB 3777 does not adequately limit subpoena power Sheriffs and DAs agreed to the first section of the bill limiting what can be subpoenaed. But the bill’s citations to the civil discovery code open up the ability to subpoena far more than what was agreed upon. - HB 3777 does not consider that the Criminal Discovery Code and Civil Discovery Code are Intentionally Different - A separate discovery code is shared by most, if not all, of the States in the US. Countless cases have been decided by our Court of Criminal Appeals finding defendants’ rights have been protected by the criminal discovery process. Thank you for your consideration on this very important note. - Every call and email counts. Let’s protect our community and ensure the safety and dignity of crime victims. Thank you for your support! 🫶 #VoteNoOnHB3777 #carecenterok
