St. Cloud is making strides to solve its housing shortage, as highlighted in our recent CMBA Government Affairs meeting. The city is working on increasing housing density and solutions like accessory dwelling units (ADUSs) and tiny homes. Matt Glaesman, St. Cloud’s Community Development Director, shared how the city is streamlining processes and reducing barriers for developers. They’re also looking at zoning changes to support diverse housing options, including multi-family units in single-family areas. These efforts aim to create more affordable housing and meet the needs of a growing population. Our committee’s discussion underscored the importance of collaboration between local government and industry professionals in addressing this critical issue.
