Our high school and middle school students were challenged to design, prototype, test, document, and present their projects to a panel of judges. Thank you to the York County Quick Response Team for visiting our Summer Lunch Program! Students and families enjoying lunch had the opportunity to check out some of the team’s equipment and tour their response vehicle. Don’t forget, lunch is free all summer for anyone ages 18 and under in the community! Meals are served from 12PM to 1PM, Monday through Thursday at Hayshire, North Hills, and Stony Brook Elementary Schools. The program will not be running on Thursday, July 4.

Let’s give a round of applause to our 2023/2024 school year retirees! This group of twenty-six individuals has made a significant impact through their dedication and commitment to the Central York School District. Of our 26 individuals: 🟧9 began their retirement during the school year ⬛️13 began their retirement at the end of this school year 🟧4 will begin their retirement later this summer This group represents approximately 510 cumulative years of service to the Central York Community. On behalf of all of us, congratulations on your well-deserved retirement. We wish you peace and happiness as you embark on your next chapter and hope you’ll always be #ProudToBeAPanther! 🐾

Shoutout to Carolina, a Sinking Springs Student this past school year who donated approximately sixteen cubic feet of plastic lids to our high school Earth Saver’s Club! High school students used the material collected over the past few years to create projects like benches and picnic tables. ♻️ The Earth Saver’s Club would like to thank the Central York Community for their support. Thanks to your help, they have converted over 5,000 pounds of plastic into creative recycling projects. 📌❗️Going forward, the club is no longer accepting donations of plastic lids and caps, as they are moving on to other exciting new endeavors.

Hayshire friends met during our last week of school to talk about a very special topic – moving on. Mrs. Thomas kicked things off with a reading of “You Are Ready! The World is Waiting” by Eric Carl. The book set the tone for celebrating their very own staff and students who are moving on after this school year. 🟧Students shared thank-you messages and memories with Mrs. Marvis, Hayshire’s Reading Specialist who will be pursuing an exciting new opportunity. ⬛️Friends in Mrs. Arentz’s Class shared a special video to celebrate her as she steps into a new role within the District next school year. 🟧Mrs. Hickoff’s class presented her with a very special book about the wonderful opportunities ahead of her as she retires. ⬛️Third-grade teachers provided words of encouragement and a reading from “Oh the Places You’ll Go“, as they bid farewell to students headed to North Hills and Sinking Springs next year. The assembly would not have been complete without a group rendition of the Positive Hayshire Power theme song!
