This custom stair project features stunning white oak treads and risers, offering a warm, inviting aesthetic that seamlessly complements any contemporary space. The white oak treads and risers with a slight cantilever over the stringers add a natural elegance, showcasing the wood's beautiful grain and durability. Each step is a testament to our commitment to quality and precision. In addition to the clean white oak stairs, this customer chose a sleek Stainless Steel rail system to enhance the modern look. This not only provides robust support and safety but also adds a sophisticated, industrial edge to the overall design. 🌟 Project Highlight: Adapt, Attack, and Overcome! 🌟 Also - a nod to the Track Community and my past life! (HURDLES RULE!) 🏃♂️ At Century Stair Company, LC, we pride ourselves on tackling challenges head-on and delivering exceptional results. Our latest custom stair project presented us with two significant hurdles, but our team’s ingenuity and dedication ensured a flawless outcome. 🔧 Challenge #1: We encountered a HURDLE with the top riser's angle not being parallel with the 2nd-floor header. We see this often with curved stairs. Others that can't, will tell you to figure out something crazy with the framing, but at Century Stair Company, LC we take these HURDLES head-on! Our solution? Building a mounting platform directly into the stair! This essentially means we are building the floor into our stair! This innovative approach provided the necessary stability and ensured a seamless finish. 🔧 Challenge #2: The second HURDLE was transitioning the railing on the floor beneath the 1st-floor stair around and into the railing going up the 1st-floor stairs. Thanks to our state-of-the-art 5-axis rail machine, we crafted a perfect transition, maintaining the sleek and elegant design our clients expect. Hurdles are something I treasure! Just like I did back in college overcoming track hurdles, our team's ability to adapt, attack, and overcome these challenges showcases the skill and creativity that sets Century Stair Company apart. One of the things I frequently talk about with friends, family, and colleagues is "mindset," and how important it is to have a positive mindset in all things you set out to do on a daily basis. For me, it really makes ALL of the difference. It's not about being gifted or talented; it's about being focused, disciplined, prepared, and having a deep belief in oneself. Having a fire 🔥 within that is virtually impossible to extinguish! Digging deep and finding that motivation on the days that you DON'T feel inspired. And although it may sound cliche, it boils down to having a clear vision, a high-performance mindset, and believing in yourself. It is that all encompassing vision that will drive you! Skillful collaboration and craftsmanship produced this statement making freestanding curve stair and unique balustrade design in Great Falls, VA.
