Excited to share my first article as a member of the Forbes Human Resources Council. I’ll be posting about connecting people to purpose and value creation for the benefit of individuals and business alike. My launch article about managing people was inspired by none other than The Boss. While I expected a Bruce Springsteen concert to be exciting, his crowd surfing delivered blinding clarity about a fundamental challenge businesses face. That I still think of that moment and its takeaway says a lot about its power. The trust and unplanned coordination that allowed dozens of strangers to work seamlessly to safely return Springsteen to the stage could apply to many workplace situations where we get bogged down by process, signoffs and second-guessing. Increasing efficiency and letting people do their best work adds enormous value and is a key focus of our Talent to Value™ approach at CEO.works.
