Activity: Investigate sequences and series found in nature, such as the Fibonacci sequence in flower petals or pinecones. Teachers with high expectations believe ALL their students will grow exceptionally, not simply make "normal" progress. A core notion is that teachers who have high (or low) expectations tend to have this for ALL students. A teacher that has high expectations for all students has an effect size of 0.90 (0.40 is one year of growth). Having professional conversations about high expectations can help teachers reflect and make change.
