Today, the men and women of the department joined the Altorelli family to celebrate and honor the life of Firefighter Joe Altorelli. Joe was a dedicated public servant, serving both the City of Fairfax and Hanover County. Joe was known for his passion for the fire service and learning his craft. He had an infectious smile and keen sense of humor. He was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend to many! He will be missed by all that knew him. The department sends a heartfelt thank you and much love to Joe for his unwavering dedicated service to our department and our citizens.
On behalf of the men and women of the department, Chief O’Neal would like to thank everyone for their outpouring of sympathy and support throughout this difficult time. We sincerely thank our regional and metro Richmond area partners for their assistance and logistical support leading up to and including today.
