About us

The Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico serves as a community resource, connects donors to needs, and supports charitable organizations in their work. Your Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico (CFSNM) serves as a vehicle for people of all means to make a lasting impact on quality of life in our region now and in the future. Our organization is supported by a broad base of individuals, families, corporations, and institutions connected by the desire to improve southern New Mexico. We manage over 200 endowments, including 40 non-profit organizations in southern New Mexico, and are home to over 35 scholarships and three annual grant cycles. As a center for charitable giving we support the arts, feed the hungry, expand literacy, improve health, and support countless other meaningful causes in the seven counties we serve, which include: Doña Ana, Hidalgo, Otero, Sierra, Grant, Lincoln and Luna.

  • The Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino, in partnership with the Stanley E. Fulton Family Foundation donated an additional $500,000 to the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico in support of the Fulton Family Foundation Economic Development Retention and Revitalization grant. The check was an addition to the $500,000 check donated in 2022. At the press conference on Oct. 17, previous grantees were highlighted, and one grantee was awarded. Daisy Lira, The Hive Education CEO, Early Childhood Education Advocate, City of Sunland Park representative and Sunland Park Chamber of Commerce board member, received $50,000 to increase quality of life and drive economic development through access to quality child care. The Stanley E. Fulton Family Foundation was endowed by the late Stanley E. Fulton, long-time owner of Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino. This donation will benefit the Southern New Mexican community including residents of Doña Ana County. The funds will be used to support economic development, entrepreneurship, business retention and revitalization of our economy throughout Doña Ana County. "This gift is a very significant one and it will make a definite impact on our efforts to support Southern New Mexicans,” said Terra V. Winter, president and CEO of CFSNM. “This generous donation will improve the way of life for many of those in our county in need of support to start, retain and grow their businesses.” We thank the Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino and the Fulton family for their continuous support to provide Doña Ana County community members resources to grow stronger. Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino's generosity has and will continue to make an everlasting impact in Southern New Mexico. For more information, visit https://lnkd.in/ggiNhgkc
