Yesterday we had the opportunity to participate in the Summer Teacher Externship, a 3-day experience where over 50 teachers from various school districts learn more about local industries, workforce needs, and skills. This tour serves the purpose of educating and collaborating with teachers to provide them with the understanding necessary to assist their students in building individual career paths and talent networks as they begin to think beyond high school. We are so grateful to have spent the afternoon with our teachers and look forward to building relationships with more students! #whycghill

Over the years, we have built machines for shingle and roofing manufacturers, packaging, filtration, automotive manufacturers, paper and corrugated printing companies, aerosols, computers, medical equipment and personal protection equipment manufacturers, converting, industrial automation, and adhesion testing.

Happy Throwback Thursday! Today's time capsule shows an old C.G. Hill advertisement for a paper bag closing machine, a staple product we began selling in 1954. Following The Depression, the paper bag industry skyrocketed as retailers used the product to showcase their brands. Around the same time, C.G. Hill was beginning to transition from a parts-and-pieces and machine repair shop to a machine-building shop, making the paper bag industry a perfect investment. Paper bag closing machines were one of our first large projects that adapted alongside new engineering and technology practices while putting our name on the map for producers and retailers. We love preserving old advertisements and photos as a benchmark to see how far we have come and showcasing the rich history that has continued to thrive for four generations!
