About us
The Community HealthCare Association of the Dakotas (CHAD) is a non-profit membership organization that serves as the primary care association for North Dakota and South Dakota. As CHAD, we believe that everyone has a right to high-quality, reliable, affordable health care, regardless of where they live. We work with health centers, community leaders, and partners to increase access to and improve health care services in areas of the Dakotas that need it most. For more than 35 years, CHAD has advanced the efforts of health centers through training, technical assistance, education, and advocacy. Currently, CHAD supports nine health center organizations across North Dakota and South Dakota by providing a variety of resources to enhance key areas of operations, including clinical, human resources, finance, outreach and enabling, marketing, and advocacy.

Health center leaders from across North Dakota attended the CHAD Health Center Day at the Capitol on March 10 & 11 in Bismarck! We met with Governor Kelly Armstrong, as well as leaders from ND Department of Health and Human Services Public Health and ND Medicaid. Kim Kuhlmann with CHAD, Nadine Boe, CEO of Northland Health Centers, and Mara Jiran, CEO of Spectra Health Org testified in support of adding an adult dental benefit for Medicaid Expansion. Shelly Ten Napel, CEO of CHAD and Margaret Asheim, CEO of Family HealthCare testified the following day in support of protecting the 340B program from contract pharmacy restrictions. We set up information in Memorial Hall and visited with legislators and the public about the health centers and the impact they have on the communities and patients they serve.

All federal funding for health centers expires this month! We're asking for your advocacy to urge Congress to extend and increase annual funding for Community Health Centers in the next government funding package. Without this support, 32.5 million patients could lose access to low-cost, high-quality primary, dental, and behavioral health services. At this critical time, we must let Congress know how important health centers are in the Dakotas and specifically your community. Contact your members of Congress today and ask them to prioritize health center funding before the March 14 deadline. 📞 Funding Call-In Campaign: https://lnkd.in/enrg75Yz ✏️ Email Campaign: https://lnkd.in/eBa-9Zgk
