Save the Date! For the first time, the celebration of Día de Muertos will take place at Civic Center Plaza. Civic Center Plaza at 500 Castro St. November 2 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The Latino community celebrates Día de Muertos to honor the lives of loved ones who have passed away. Each year, families gather together to decorate altars with papel picado, Cempasúchitl flowers, sugar skulls, and candles. People also share offerings to their ancestors who passed away such as their loved one's favorite dishes.
