A #PeriodFriendlyWorld is possible! Menstrual health and hygiene (MHH) affects more than just the female body–it impacts progress in girls’ education, women’s and girls’ health, women’s economic empowerment and with that overall economic development. The good thing is: enabling good menstrual health and hygiene is no rocket science. Good MHH has four components: education about menstruation, access to quality menstrual products, a supportive environment without taboos and stigma, and period-friendly infrastructure. And the knowledge and tested solutions to address all of these issues already exist. With them, we can create a #PeriodFriendlyWorld within our generation. Together with our friends from Girl Up, United Nations Foundation, Procter & Gamble, Changing Our World, UNICEF, The Sanitation and Hygiene Fund (SHF), Days for Girls International, Population Services International/Stichting PSI Europe, Global Citizen, The Case for Her, and the Girls Opportunity Alliance / Obama Foundation, we're going to put a big spotlight on MHH during the upcoming UN General Assembly week in New York City. HAYES TAKES TIMES SQUARE! We would like to give a huge thank you to Holman Gao, CEO and Founder of Boost My School and Hudson Flynn for selecting Cardinal Hayes to be featured on a Billboard in Times Square! Boost My School is the fundraising platform that we partner with to manage our donation webpages. Boost partnered with Brex, a financial services company, in order to feature the excellent work that Boost My School has been doing with us here at Hayes as a way to help promote Cardinal Hayes to a greater audience! The Billboard is located above the Pele Soccer store at 1560 Broadway, NY, NY 10036 and will be shown at the 4-5 minute mark at the top of every hour (8:04, 9:04, 10:04, etc.) and will last for about 8 seconds. The Billboard will be running until August 25th, so feel free to take a look if you’re in the area!
