Thank you to The Philadelphia Citizen for naming Arashdeep Singh, Ph.D. as Citizen of the Week. Arash was introduced to CTC and deep canvassing through the help of his friends, and he was instantly drawn to our work. “Ultimately, even if I’m not a voter, I want to live in an environment that’s more hopeful, more positive, and more loving,” he says. For the last few weeks, Arash has been volunteering with CTC and spending his Tuesday evenings with us as one of our logistics night team members where he helps with data entry and organizes materials for canvassing volunteers. To read more about Arash and the work he's doing to fight for democracy, read the article here - https://lnkd.in/gm9fFM9q

Using deep canvassing to combat the politics of hate and elect a qualified and compassionate president.
About us
Changing the Conversation Together for Progress is an organization of concerned citizens using the evidence-based strategy of deep canvassing to combat the politics of hate. Our Deep Canvassing Model: Deep canvassing trains volunteers to use personal storytelling, empathetic listening and engaged conversation to help voters connect their personal values to the urgent issues of our day. We reach voters neglected by the Democratic Party and by candidates, who typically focus only on a narrow group – the "Democratic Base" – in traditional canvassing and GOTV efforts. Deep canvassing is also the most effective form of voter persuasion ever measured. Join us in our work to learn more and strengthen our democracy!

3 weeks until the election. But you don't have to wait until Election Day to cast your vote. You can vote by mail or go to Satellite Election Offices to vote early just like West Philly resident Kashon Crawley. Kashon Crawley voted in person on October 8 at a Satellite Election Office through the help of CTC volunteer Brett Brune. If you're not registered to vote you can register and vote at the Satellite Election Office before 5 PM Monday, October 21. If you have a mail-in ballot you can take it to a Satellite Election Office and the staff will explain ways for you to vote early. Already voted? Volunteer with us at our upcoming deep canvasses to register potential voters and help them vote early. Register at https://lnkd.in/gW3jqhtZ

The presidential campaigns may be spending hundreds of millions of dollars on tv and online advertising, but you don’t need to spend a dollar to make a personal impact! You don’t even need to contribute a penny. You can volunteer to join us in Philadelphia! There are thousands of people at risk of not voting who you can be a resource to. No experience necessary. Philly friends: want to host a canvasser? For Andy McIntyre, phone canvassing and donating has turned into volunteering three times a week, recruiting volunteers, raising donations, and hosting out-of-town canvassers. Andy got in touch after he read Politics is for Power, a book that discusses our work helping Democrats win a key congressional race in Staten Island through deep canvassing. Nowadays, Andy assists with ‘Tuesday volunteer nights’ — where we share a meal, prepare materials for upcoming canvasses, and finalize data entry from previous canvasses. Andy didn’t stop his volunteer efforts there, he also became a host for out-of-town canvassers! Making the journey to Philadelphia is a big ask of out-of-town volunteers, and so is putting them up. The importance of this election made Andy think about the difference he could make by becoming a host: “if opening up our home allows a few more people to join, and that translates to a few more votes in Philadelphia, it's worth it,” he says. “To anyone thinking of hosting canvassers, do it! You'll make connections with interesting, passionate people and make this crucial work more accessible. “If you’re feeling powerless or hopeless, remember that you have power. You have agency. We all have a part to play in the next month, whether that's volunteering, hosting a canvasser or two, or giving financial support.” If you’d like to become a host for out-of-town volunteers, email info@ctc4progress.org with the subject heading “Housing volunteer.”
